Nowadays an interpreter is one of the most valuable professions. Some people claim that if one attains proficiency in a language, it will be quite easy for them to be an interpreter, while others argue that knowing a foreign language and working as an interpreter are absolutely different things. In this essay I would like to express my point of view on this issue.
Personally, I think that if one wants to become an interpreter, they have to get a special education. To begin with, the profession of an interpreter includes the duty of knowing many different specific words and collocations, which cannot be known by a person without a special education. In addition, it is not enough to be fluent in a foreign language. One should always improve their skills.
However, some people think that it is not necessary to get a special education. They say that knowing a foreign language includes detailed knowledge of all aspects of a language. I am afraid I cannot agree with this opinion because every aspect of any language contains special information which cannot be understood only by being fluent.
To sum up, I strongly believe that if one wants to be an interpreter, they should get a specific education
